A game of make-believe with the audience
As a director or movement coach, Colin’s focus is on clarity and legibility to deliver the story in the most touching way possible. His attention to detail and sense of play create a feeling of wonder and joy. His approach is very physical and hands-on, often jumping onto the stage with the artists he directs and playing with them. He sees creation as an intricate, non-linear puzzle where all departments collaborate and solve each-other’s riddles. One of his strengths is finding unusual, efficient solutions through lateral thinking. To him, puppetry is not an illusion we project for the viewer, it is a game of make-believe we play with the audience.

Artistic Director for project ASTERIA's 360º VR music video with famous musician Daniel Bélanger mixing cardboard puppetry, video effects and shadow theatre in an immersive experience. Home-created and directed an experimental micro series distilling stories and characters to their simplest expression using the languages of puppetry, film, and visual storytelling. With support from Canada Arts Council. Watch here

Les Pas Sortables
The Old Ones and The Sea, Bazarnaüm, A Mechanical Fable
Created and co-directed with Sandra Turgeon several street-show productions that saw support from Montreal Arts Council, and toured in Quebec, Canada, Mexico and China. The Old Ones and The Sea is still touring 10 years after its creation.

Worked with a wide breadth of institutions and artists to perfect and guide their artistic process around puppetry. Coached for les 7 Doigts, gave a 3-week masterclass in short-film making with puppets in South Korea, gave a puppeteer masterclass at NYU Abu Dhabi in tandem with Patrick Martel and offers individual mentorship sessions.
